This is me presenting my senior thesis. I spent a year researching why there has been an increase in anti-LGBT policy and conflict in recent years and was tasked with designing a poster to convey all of that information for my presentation. This gave me the amazing opportunity to combine my passions for both social justice and graphic design. I hope to do more work like this in the future, because I think it's important to make political information more accessible for people.
I’m Thyme Steele, an aspiring graphic designer from Lebanon, PA looking to relocate to the Philadelphia area. I received my B.A. in Politics, Government, and Law from Arcadia University and, while I still have a passion for politics and social justice, I have fallen in love with art and design.
I particularly enjoy creating branding systems and infographics, but I love exploring new forms of design and expanding my skill set. One area that I am trying to learn more about right now is web design. My favorite design tools (in order) are Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, but I am slowly learning to love Figma and Webflow.
I am a proud member of the queer community and care deeply about advocating for my community and other marginalized groups. Ultimately, I want to make the world a better place and I hope to be able to do so through my design.
When I’m not working on design, you’ll find me doodling, playing House Flipper, researching random topics, collecting vintage ephemera, and cuddling with my cat.
